Dr. James Chen, born in 1966 in Tongxiang City, Zhejiang Province, is the founder, chairman and president of Zhejiang University Sunny Technology Co., Ltd. In 1984, he was selected as the first talent class of Zhejiang University (now known as the "mixed class"). In 1985, due to his determination in the agricultural science and technology industry, he applied to the school to transfer to the then Zhejiang Agricultural University (later merged with Zhejiang University) to obtain an undergraduate and master's degree. After entering the China Agricultural University, he was admitted to Professor Mao Daru (the first president of China Agricultural University) and received his Ph.D in 2002.

Personal honors:
In 2005, he was included in the New Century "131" outstanding young and middle-aged talents training program in Hangzhou city;
In 2006, he won the Science and Technology Progress Award in Nantong city;
In 2008, he was named as the hero of making the city prosperous in technological way of Nantong City, Jiangsu Province;
In 2009, he was employed as a friend tutor by Zhejiang University's Zhukezhen College;
In 2012, he was included in the first phase of the "Technology Entrepreneur Cultivation Project" in Jiangsu Province.
In 2015, he was awarded the honorary title of "Young and middle-aged experts in Jiangsu Province with outstanding contributions" by the Jiangsu Province Government;
In 2018, he was awarded the "Science and Technology Progress Award" of "Private Technology Development Contribution Award 2017".
