【Description】FlavoGain 40 is light brown to brown free-flowing powder, with special odor. It contains 40g bambermycin per kg.

【Pharmacological Action】
Bambermycin is a phosphorus-containing glycolipid antibiotic. It is mainly active  against Gram-positive bacteria, i.e., staphylococci and streptococci, and some Gram-negative bacteria. It inhibits peptidoglycan synthesis in the cell wall by inhibiting peptidoglycan polymerases through impairment of the transglycolase activities of penicillin binding proteins leading to lysis and cell death. No cross-resistance was found in strains resistant to other antibiotics. There is almost no absorption from the gastrointestinal tract for bambermycin, and it is excreted almost as its parent drug in animal manure after 24 hours.
